Risk Reduction Strategy
Betaris recognise that in order for organisations to mitigate risk to their people and their operational output, they must have a robust and effective Risk Reduction Strategy that prepares them to be able to prevent and manage work related violence.
To achieve this goal, the Betaris approach is to work with the organisation utilising an integrated Risk Reduction Strategy. This strategy has three core strands as illustrated below:

- Resilience. Resilience, in this context, is identifying where risks are in your job role or the roles of your employees and the triggers that may escalate behaviour towards violence. It is also about understanding relevant legislation and subsequently the planning and preparation that prevents or lessens the impact of the abusive, threatening and assaultive behaviour. Once an organisation has performed competent risk assessments for work related violence in conjunction with current legislation then it can begin to develop and implement suitable training initiatives and procedures for the prevention and management of work related violence
- Response. This stage of the strategy focuses on the practical application of established Procedures utilising the knowledge and skills acquired through the training initiatives, to enable quick and effective response to, and where possible resolution, of a developing incident and in doing so, lessen the adverse impact on the employees, and organisations business continuity.
- Recovery. Post incident considerations are about providing the appropriate support to those affected by a violent incident at work. The support should be consistent with statutory regulations and policies and procedures laid down by the organisation. It is about ensuring immediate support as well as in the medium and long term. Post incident planning enables the organisation to maintain business continuity and minimise disruption.
