Betaris' Training Needs Process
Structured Interview
The initial interview with the commissioning organisation is an important start to the process to explain the Betaris Training Cycle and to establish:
- What are the perceived problems?
- What are the symptoms of the perceived problems?
- What are the aims and objectives for the training intervention?
- Who will receive copies of the Training Needs Analysis Report?
- The number of incidents that have been reported and recorded?
- The types of incidents that have been reported and recorded?
- What are the limitations for the training intervention, time allocation, number of delegates?
Current Organisational Policies and Procedures
As part of the training needs analysis Betaris will request a copy of the current organisational risk assessments, policies and procedures to establish:
- How the organisation currently identifies what symptoms are being displayed within the organisation?
- How incidents are reported and recorded within the organisation?
- What are the current procedures that are in place to deal with incidents?
- How the organisation deals with post incident support?
Betaris Risk Assessments
Betaris Risk Assessment of Role (compliant with National Occupational Standards Unit WRV 3) has been designed specifically to offer a holistic approach to identifying factors that contribute to the increased risk of violence. Betaris risk assessments take into consideration the following factors:
- Environmental factors
- Job design/Task Analysis factors
- Training factors
Betaris Training Needs Analysis Report
Upon collation and analysis of the results of the training needs analysis a full written report will be issued to the commissioning organisation. Using the Triangulation approach to the training needs analysis allows for an in depth understanding of the problems being faced by employees.
This clear and in depth perspective of the problems enables recommendations to be targeted specifically at the problems being faced. Non-training needs may also be highlighted within the report such as environmental factors which allow the commissioning organisation the opportunity to take further action outside the scope of the training intervention.
