Betaris Security Survey
The Security Survey is carried out with the aim of examining threats and vulnerabilities as they effect an organisation. From the original risk assessment, a survey of current options will be examined, from which will be generated a number of recommendations and options designed to mitigate against identified risks.
Services
During the survey, the following areas will be examined and commented upon, with professionally skilled and qualified surveyors adopting an approach of:

- This is what I saw;
- This is why it is important and;
- These are my recommendations.
a. Defence in depth. This is a concept which examines interlinking mitigation strategies, where one is breached but supported by the next line of defence.
b. The environment. In the examination of the environment, issues such as crime pattern analysis; crime prevention through environmental design; emergency services response and so on will be the focus.
c. Perimeter protection. This section will examine the integrity of the perimeter which is the first physical line of defence, and will include an analysis of perimeter by type and standards.
d. Access control. The survey will examine the control of access internally and externally, and will include gate and barrier management externally, and internal access control systems throughout all buildings.
e. Physical and electronic security. In this section the surveyor will examine the following areas:
- CCTV
- Electronic Access Control Systems
- Intruder Detection Systems
- Doors and windows
- Roof areas
- Building fabric
f. Personal protection. The section covering personal protection will look at threats and vulnerabilities in relation to the safety of staff, management and members of the public.
g. Security Officer provision. During the survey, all aspects of contract security provision such as service level agreements; key point indicators and so on will be examined.
h. Policies; Plans and Procedures. It is of paramount importance for all organisations to be able to prepare for all eventualities. During the survey, documents which will include previous survey reports; contingency plans and recovery strategies and business continuity plans will be evaluated for best practice going forward.
